Heart of a Killer with Niv Sultan renewed for second season after Hot hit
Niv Sultan will scrub back in. The Israeli thriller Heart of a Killer has been renewed for a second season after its seven-episode first run became one of the most-watched shows on Israeli platform Hot when it debuted earlier in 2026, Variety reported on 12 October.
Seven episodes. One big result. A renewal, meaning the broadcaster has ordered more episodes, keeps the story alive and the production team in work.
The series stars Sultan as Dr Dasi Nakash, a transplant surgeon who turns to illicit organ harvesting, according to WorldScreen. Sultan previously led Apple TV's Tehran as a Mossad agent working undercover. Here she plays a doctor pulled into crime.
Behind the camera, the show was created by Liad Shoham, Gal Zaid and Roni Yaddor and directed by Evgeny Ruman. It was produced by Endemol Shine Israel, with Israeli network Hot as a co-production partner, meaning Hot helped fund and make the series alongside the studios, Deadline reported. Executive producers are Amir Ganor, Amy Israel, Emilio Schenker, Gideon Tadmor, Ori Gal, Dana Mendlinger and Mirit Toovi.
The commission also continues a partnership. Heart of a Killer is the second co-production from Sipur Studios and The North Road Company after the Netflix hit Bad Boy. Both companies develop and finance shows with broadcasters attached, then sell them territory by territory.
That international sale is now under way. Federation International, the distribution arm of Federation Studios, is launching global sales for Season 1 at Mipcom, the Cannes television market where channels, streamers and free ad-supported services buy broadcast rights. No international broadcaster or streaming date has been announced.
For viewers outside Israel, this means a wait. Season 1 must first find buyers country by country. A second season order gives that sales effort momentum, with more episodes on the way.
