Bodhi Rae Breathnach signs with UTA as Sense and Sensibility heads to US

Bodhi Rae Breathnach has signed with UTA to handle her acting work in the United States, Variety reported on Oct. 12. She will work with agent Danie Streisand at the organisation, which finds roles and negotiates contracts for performers. In Britain, she continues to be represented by The Artists Partnership. That type of deal covers auditions, offers and contract talks in America.
Keeping separate representation on each side of the Atlantic is standard practice. British performers often retain a home agent for U.K. theatre, television and film while adding an American agency to pursue studio and streaming work across the Atlantic. Each team talks to different casting directors and producers. The arrangement lets each office focus on its own market while sharing long-term planning.
Her first screen appearance was in the series The Capture. She made her feature film debut, her first role in a cinema film, in Hamnet from director Chloe Zhao. She later co-starred alongside Jason Statham in Shelter, an action-thriller released by Black Bear, Variety reported. Early television work often provides on-set training before a cinema debut.
She stars as Margaret Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility, directed by Georgia Oakley. The film was released in the U.K. on Sept. 25. It is due to launch in the U.S. on Oct. 16, Variety reported. A gap between territories is routine, with local distributors choosing separate dates for cinemas.
She will appear in Werwulf from director Robert Eggers alongside Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe. An ensemble means several named actors appear together in one film. She has also wrapped the leading role of Marjorie in A Head Full of Ghosts from Fifth Season, directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, Variety reported. Wrapped means principal photography has finished and the film moves towards post-production.
For audiences, the calendar makes the timing easy to track. Sense and Sensibility opened in Britain in late September and reaches American cinemas on Oct. 16. With Shelter already released and two further films wrapped or announced, the next chances to see her work on screen are already set. It is a compact run of credits for a performer early in a cinema career.
