Selma Blair, 54, was arrested on Sunday in New York after an alleged disturbance aboard a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York, WFMD reported. The Sunday-night service was travelling from LAX to JFK when crew reported a physically abusive passenger, later identified as Blair, according to Deadline. She allegedly tried to open an aircraft door mid-flight.

During the flight she allegedly punched one airline employee and bit another, Deadline reported. Two flight attendants reported injuries in the incident. One attendant was transported to hospital for treatment.

New York Port Authority police, who cover the New York-area airports, met the aircraft after a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard, Deadline reported. Blair was taken into custody and then transported to hospital for evaluation. The FBI, the US federal investigative agency, is investigating the incident.

A representative for Blair told Deadline that she experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged behaviour. The representative said she received immediate medical attention upon landing. She is currently in stable condition.

TMZ first published the story on 12 October 2026 at 10:29 AM PDT under the headline ‘Selma Blair Arrested After Allegedly Biting Flight Attendant’, and updated it at 12:50 PM PDT, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that it had obtained eyewitness audio of Blair leaving the plane at JFK Airport, in which screaming can be heard as an alarm rings.

Blair was involved in another incident aboard a flight in 2016, after which she apologised and said the outburst resulted from mixing medication with alcohol, Deadline reported. In 2018, she revealed that she had multiple sclerosis. No further details about charges or next steps have been confirmed.
