Shakira closed her Madrid residency on Oct. 12 with a finale billed as ‘The Last Dance’. The show was the 13th of the run and capped four consecutive nights from Oct. 9 to Oct. 12, according to Billboard.

A residency is a run of shows staged in one city rather than stops on a tour. This one played out over several weekends in September and October 2026. The closing night fell on Spain’s National Day, Día de la Hispanidad.

Five guests joined her for the final concert. The line-up was Maluma, Laura Pausini, Beéle, Dani Martín and Bizarrap.

Maluma appeared for the second night in a row. He performed ‘Chantaje’ and ‘Agua’ with Shakira. Pausini sang ‘Antología’ with her as a duet.

Dani Martín joined Shakira for ‘Te Dejo Madrid’. Beéle performed ‘Algo Tú’ with her. The song choices linked the night to Madrid and to collaborations from different stages of her catalogue.

The staging leaned on Colombia as well as Spain. Dancers from the Carnival of Barranquilla, the street parade held each year in Shakira’s home city, took part in the finale. A drone display lit the sky above the stadium.

Shakira told the crowd that more than 10,000 people had worked on the production and on the themed city built around the venue. She described the Madrid run as historic for her and one of the most important projects of her career.

What makes this stand out is the scale around the music. The residency was built with Macondo Park, a 185,000-square-metre fan zone named for the fictional town in Gabriel García Márquez’s novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, according to Arquitectura Viva. It was listed as open from noon to midnight local time, with the concerts scheduled from 8:30 to 11 p.m., according to Billboard.

The final date was announced a week in advance as an addition to the run. On Oct. 6, organisers had confirmed that Maluma, Beéle and Dani Martín would join Shakira for Oct. 12, according to Billboard. Pausini and Bizarrap completed the guest list on the night.
