Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson are telling the Jackson 5 story in their own words in a new untitled documentary.

The 90-minute feature has been three years in the making, according to Billboard. It will also be offered as a three-part series. Benjamin Hirsch directs the project.

The film includes the final interview given by Tito Jackson before his death in 2024 at age 70. His brothers appear alongside him to trace the group from its early days as a family act to worldwide success.

The Jackson 5 signed to Motown Records in 1968. They became the first group to debut with four consecutive No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, the US singles chart, with “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There.”

The group left Motown in 1976 to sign with Epic Records. Younger brother Randy replaced Jermaine in the line-up, and the act was renamed The Jacksons.

For viewers who know the choruses better than the history, this is a chance to hear it from the people who lived it. Four brothers. One shared account, told four ways.

The producers describe the film as built around the brothers’ different recollections, with rare, unseen archival footage running through it, according to Complex. That material covers life in the band and life after the chart run.

The documentary is being shopped to international buyers at Mipcom, the television trade show in Cannes, France. It is planned for global release, according to Variety. No title or release date has been confirmed.
