Tommy & Tuppence Finale Ends on a Kiss and a Cliffhanger as Stars Talk Season 2

Tuppence finally chooses Tommy — then walks in on him kissing someone else.
That is how “Tommy & Tuppence” ends its first season. Episode 6 is now streaming on BritBox, and stars Josh Dylan and Antonia Thomas spoke about the finale, their on-screen chemistry and hopes for a second season in interviews published on 13 October 2026, according to Variety and Collider.
Dylan plays Tommy. Thomas plays Tuppence. The BritBox Original takes Agatha Christie’s famous sleuths and moves them to the modern day.
The twist is their relationship. Christie wrote Tommy and Tuppence as a married couple. Here they are exes. They dated at university a decade earlier and meet again at a wedding before a murder pulls them back together. After a guest is found dead and the groom is arrested, the pair briefly split before reuniting to investigate, according to Variety.
In this version, Tommy is a crime writer and Tuppence is an actress. Tuppence is married to a director back in Los Angeles. Imelda Staunton plays Tommy’s Aunt Ada, who helps the pair solve cases around London.
The series premiered on BritBox on 15 September, timed to celebrate Christie’s birthday, according to BritBox. BritBox bills it as the first English-language contemporary television adaptation of Christie. The streamer released an official trailer and key art in August, and Variety later named the show among 55 new and returning series in its fall preview.
Episode 6 centres on a cold case involving child murders in the countryside. In the closing run of episodes, Tuppence admits her feelings for Tommy and decides to divorce her husband. Then she finds Tommy kissing police detective Draper, played by Callie Cooke. Before the credits, Tuppence’s sister arrives with a mission to help the U.K. government with a major case.
That last scene leaves Season 1 on a cliffhanger. For viewers catching up, this means two threads are left open: the romance and the job offer.
There is no confirmed second-season order in the interviews. A straight-to-series order, meaning no pilot is shot first, got Season 1 made. A renewal, meaning a formal order for more episodes, is the next step. What Dylan and Thomas discussed was wanting to return if that order comes.
