Ubisoft to close Trials studio RedLynx, cut 70 roles in Singapore

Ubisoft is closing RedLynx, the Finnish studio behind the Trials series, with up to 52 positions at risk.
The publisher has informed teams of a proposal to close the studio. The plan is subject to Finland's change negotiation process, the formal talks between a company and staff representatives that must happen before redundancies are confirmed.
Ubisoft acquired RedLynx in 2011 after the breakout success of Trials HD. Its last major standalone release was Trials Rising in 2019.
The closure ends a 15-year run. It also follows an earlier attempt to reshape the studio rather than shut it.
In October 2025, RedLynx managing director Celine Pasula outlined a restructuring proposal that would have moved the studio away from multiplatform development to specialise in games for small screens RedLynx. At the time, the studio said it was leading two unannounced mobile projects.
That proposal would have cut a maximum of 60 positions, concentrated in production and administration teams. Staff working on Snowdrop, Ubisoft's in-house game engine that powers several of its titles, were excluded from those talks. Negotiations were scheduled to begin on 30 October and conclude toward the end of November. Ubisoft described the plan as part of a global effort to simplify operations, reduce costs and improve prioritisation and efficiency across its studio network.
The new closure proposal replaces that approach. Details published on 14 October put the number affected at up to 52 positions Eurogamer.
Separately, 70 positions at Ubisoft Singapore have been impacted. Ubisoft said the change aligns the studio with upcoming production needs. It added that Singapore remains an important part of Ubisoft's global production organisation.
The staff news was reported alongside a sales milestone for the publisher. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced passed 3.5 million sales in its first fortnight.
For the people affected, the next steps differ by country. In Finland, the proposal must still go through consultation before any decision is final. In Singapore, the company has described the 70 roles as impacted.
