Turnstile and Rosalía turn SNL slots into streaming jumps

Turnstile and Rosalía turned back-to-back Saturday Night Live slots into sharp streaming gains in the United States.
Turnstile made its debut as musical guest on the Oct. 3 episode, hosted by Dakota Johnson in her third turn as host. The five-member band from Baltimore, a winner of two Grammy Awards in 2026, was the first hardcore band to appear on the show since Fear in 1981, according to Billboard.
The lift was fast. “Birds” drew 327,000 official on-demand U.S. streams — plays on paid and ad-supported audio services — across Oct. 5-9, up 74% on the same Monday-to-Friday period the week before. “I Care” collected 239,000 streams in the same window, up 80%, with both figures supplied by Luminate, the data firm behind the U.S. charts.
Across the full set, the band’s discography totalled more than 3.9 million official on-demand U.S. streams in Oct. 5-9. That was up 44% from 2.7 million the prior week.
Rosalía followed on Oct. 10 with her second turn as musical guest. She performed “Reliquia” and “Magnolias,” both from her album LUX, according to Billboard.
Early Luminate data showed an immediate response. “Reliquia” pulled in 51,000 streams on Oct. 12, a 175% gain from Oct. 5. “Magnolias” rose to 53,000 streams on Oct. 12 from just under 12,000 the previous Monday, a 356% gain.
Her wider catalogue moved as well. Just over 1 million streams went to her full catalogue on the latest tracking day, up 37% from 762,000 a week earlier.
What makes this stand out is how quickly television still converts to listening. Two nights, two different sounds, and the plays followed within days.
