Jodie Sweetin Says Full House Co-star Dave Coulier Is Doing Great After Cancer

Dave Coulier is doing "really well" eight months after announcing he was in remission from tongue cancer.
The update came from his former Full House co-star Jodie Sweetin. She shared it in an interview with People, reported by Variety on 15 October 2026.
Sweetin said she had just spent a weekend at Coulier's house with another co-star, Andrea Barber. "He's doing great," she said.
Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner on Full House. Coulier played Joey Gladstone, the stand-up comic who moves in to help raise three young girls. The sitcom ran for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995.
Coulier announced in February 2026 that he was in remission, meaning doctors could find no sign of cancer, after treatment for tongue cancer. He had shared the diagnosis two months earlier, in December 2025.
Doctors diagnosed P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue, according to People. Treatment involved 35 rounds of radiation.
The treatment took a heavy toll. Coulier said in a social media video that he had not been able to eat solid food in months and had lost 45 pounds after extensive radiation for throat carcinoma.
It was his second cancer battle in two years. Coulier was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph system, in 2024. He told his Full House co-stars about that diagnosis in a group text.
He later said he learned he was cancer-free from the lymphoma on the same day he learned he would become a grandfather, in news reported by People. He had beaten that cancer nearly a year before the tongue cancer remission announcement.
The cast has stayed close through both illnesses. They reunited with Coulier after his cancer treatment in August 2026. In September 2026, Coulier discussed his experience and an organised Detroit charity comedy event in an interview with the Detroit News.
For fans, this means a reassuring word after a difficult stretch. Sweetin did not give medical details. She kept it simple. Her old friend is back home, hosting friends, and doing great.
