Multitude Media promotes Gem Pinkney to managing director in leadership reshuffle

Multitude Media has promoted Gem Pinkney to managing director, a newly created role at the British publicity firm.
The move was reported by Deadline on 15 October. Pinkney will sit in a new senior leadership team led by founder and chief executive Will Wood.
Pinkney joined Multitude from broadcaster UKTV, according to Prolific North, and ran its television operation as Director of Television. That TV division will now be co-led by two newly promoted staff.
Nicole Campbell becomes Senior PR Lead – Scripted & Ents. She will cover scripted programmes, meaning written dramas and comedies, alongside entertainment shows. Sal Porter becomes Senior PR Lead – Unscripted & Factual. She will cover reality, documentary and other programmes made without a script.
PR stands for public relations. In television that means press, red carpets, interviews and campaigns that put shows and talent in front of viewers.
The wider reshuffle reaches beyond TV. Charlotte Kershaw, who has been with Multitude since 2019, will return from maternity leave in January as Strategy & Creative Director across TV, Culture and Live Entertainment. Jess Molyneux has been promoted to Senior PR Lead – Corporate and Special Projects.
Emily Hargreaves continues to lead the personal PR business. Her client list includes actors Danny Dyer, Lolly Adefope and Shazad Latif. Karma Symington serves as Director, Culture & Live Entertainment.
Multitude represents BAFTA and numerous production companies for PR. The company now plans a push into live entertainment. It expects additional live and entertainment hires over the next few months.
For viewers, little changes on screen. For the people behind it, it matters. A new slot at the top decides which shows get pitched, which talent get backed and which stories get finished.
