From admin assistant to president: Josephine Vaccarello to lead MSG Entertainment

MSG Entertainment has promoted Josephine Vaccarello to president, putting a long-serving executive in charge of its live business. The organisation confirmed the appointment on 21 September 2026. Billboard
Vaccarello most recently served as executive vice president of live at MSG Entertainment. She joined the company in 1998 as an administrative assistant. She has since built more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry.
As president, she will oversee strategy and operations across multiple areas of the business, the company said. MSG Entertainment Her central brief is bookings — the deals that decide which acts and events play in which venues, and when. It covers entertainment and sports bookings at MSG Entertainment venues, excluding the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks.
That portfolio centres on New York. MSG Entertainment operates Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theatre. Vaccarello already leads its live entertainment bookings business, which spans concerts, family shows, comedy, performing arts and special events.
She will keep a further responsibility in Las Vegas. Vaccarello will continue overseeing bookings for live concert residencies and touring acts at Sphere. A residency is a run of shows by one act in one venue, while a touring act travels from city to city.
Sphere sits outside MSG Entertainment. The Las Vegas venue is owned by Sphere Entertainment Co. Both companies are led by Jim Dolan, who is executive chairman and chief executive of MSG Entertainment and Sphere Entertainment.
Vaccarello's rise has moved step by step. She was named senior vice president for MSG Live and business operations, a role expanded in June 2021 to bring bookings and commercial operations together. She was later promoted to executive vice president of live before this move to president.
What makes this stand out is continuity. Venue businesses run on long relationships with artists, promoters and leagues. For fans, this means the calendar at the Garden and Radio City will be shaped by someone who knows those rooms from the inside.
