Radial Entertainment has ordered a third season of Making a Serial Killer. The new season will run for ten episodes. It will premiere on 1 December on FilmRise channels and other platforms in the US, as first reported by Deadline.

Making a Serial Killer is a true-crime series. It examines the backstories of notorious serial killers. It tells those stories through testimony from people affected by the crimes and from the law enforcement officers who stopped them.

The order is a greenlight, meaning the show moves straight into production with no further approval needed. Season 3 is being produced in partnership with FirstLook Studios. The studio is based in the United Kingdom and was formerly known as FirstLook TV.

Radial will hold rights to Season 3 in five territories. Rights in television mean who is allowed to sell and screen a show in each place. Here the territories are the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

For viewers, this means a date for the diary. Ten episodes are on the way. The launch is set for winter in the US.

The producing teams on both sides are now confirmed. Katie Carroll and Cristina Guggino will serve as executive producers for Radial, overseeing the season on the company's behalf. Guggino is vice-president of originals and content partnerships at Radial.

Will Hanrahan will serve as executive producer for FirstLook Studios. He is joined by series producers Graham Smiles and Rachel Bowering, who look after the day-to-day making of the episodes. Series producers manage shoots, schedules and delivery.

The multi-territory deal behind the season was negotiated on both sides of the table. Carroll negotiated for Radial in her role as director of originals and business development. Lucy Middelboe, director of business at FirstLook Studios, negotiated for FirstLook.

The announcement closed a busy MIPCOM week for Radial. MIPCOM is the international television market held in Cannes where producers pitch and sell programmes to broadcasters and streamers. News of the order was published by Deadline on 15 October 2026 in an exclusive report. It was Radial's third announcement of the week, following new episodes of Forensic Files, Season 4 rights to World's Most Evil Prisoners and a revival of A Haunting.
