Mattel has turned Celine Dion's 1998 Oscars performance into a doll. The company has announced a Barbie Signature doll that recreates what the singer wore to perform "My Heart Will Go On" at the Academy Awards, according to Billboard.

The look is specific to that night. The doll wears a navy blue turtleneck maxi dress with long sleeves, a replica of the floor-length gown Dion wore on stage. The cut is high at the neck and simple through the body, keeping the focus on the shape she wore in 1998.

A small piece of film history comes with it. Around the doll's neck sits a miniature glittering necklace inspired by the blue heart-shaped "Heart of the Ocean" from Titanic, the film linked to the song. The necklace is sized for Barbie but keeps the deep blue stone and sparkling frame that viewers remember from the film.

Mattel's official shop lists the item as the "Barbie Signature Celine Dion Collectible Doll," according to Mattel. Barbie Signature is the company's collector range, made in greater detail for adult collectors rather than for everyday play. That is why the packaging and styling stay close to the original red-carpet appearance.

The doll is available to preorder for US$60 through Mattel Creations, Mattel's online store for limited and collector releases. A preorder means buyers reserve now ahead of dispatch. The listing says orders are slated to ship on or before Dec. 31.

The release points to the scale of Dion's career. Mattel notes that the singer has sold more than 250 million albums worldwide, according to Mattel. That total spans a catalogue built over decades and in more than one language.

For fans, this means timing matters. A ship date on or before Dec. 31 puts arrival inside the holiday gift window. Collector dolls are often produced in limited runs, so anyone hoping to give this one as a gift will want to order early and keep the confirmation.

What makes this stand out is the choice of moment. Mattel did not pick a tour costume or a video look. It picked an awards-show performance tied to a single song. That keeps the story clear even for buyers who do not follow every era of her work.
