Al Pacino to receive SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award in 2027

Al Pacino will receive SAG-AFTRA's Life Achievement Award.
The honour will be presented at the Actor Awards ceremony on 28 February 2027, according to Variety. It is the union's tribute to a lifetime of work, given for both career and humanitarian accomplishments.
The presentation is set for the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. That puts Pacino at the centre of the union's annual awards night. Viewers will not have to wait long for the moment, with the date now locked in for late February.
SAG-AFTRA's president is Sean Astin. The Life Achievement Award carries his organisation's name, and it is handed to one performer each cycle for work built up over decades rather than for a single role in a single year. In this case, the citation covers acting and humanitarian work together.
Pacino's awards record is already long. He won the best actor Oscar for "Scent of a Woman". He has earned two Tony Awards, the prizes for theatre in the United States, and two Primetime Emmy Awards, the prizes for prime-time television.
He has also won two Actor Awards from SAG-AFTRA itself. Those are the union's own acting prizes, voted on within the profession. A Life Achievement Award now sits above those competitive wins.
For fans, this means one date to hold. The 28 February ceremony will be the night the award is formally presented. The Shrine Auditorium will be the room where it happens.
What makes this stand out is the breadth of the citation. A career award looks back across stage, film and television. A humanitarian citation looks beyond performance. Pacino is being recognised on both counts at once.
