Cardi B says she lost her Hermes Birkin bag Esmeralda
Cardi B has lost Esmeralda, the brown Hermès Birkin bag she named and showed off online.
The rapper shared the news on Oct. 14 in a reply on X to a fan who asked her to “bring Esmeralda back out.” A Birkin is a luxury handbag made by French house Hermès, often sold in limited numbers and at high prices.
“I f-vkin lost her,” Cardi B wrote, according to Billboard. In the same post on X, she said Esmeralda is the only bag she has missing. She thinks she left it in a hotel.
She added that she is “so sad” about the loss. She did not say which hotel or when she last saw the bag.
The X post included an older video of Cardi B posing with the bag. In the clip, she holds a brown Birkin up to the camera and describes it. “She’s exotic. She’s the moment,” she says. “Her name is Esmeralda.”
Esmeralda is one of several high-value Hermès bags Cardi B has shown publicly. In December 2025, she carried an extremely rare Hermès purse estimated to cost $120,000, according to People. That model is one of 10 ever made.
She has also shown a mustard-yellow Hermès Kelly, another luxury handbag style from the brand, valued at $60,000, according to KTLA. The bag carries a small heart drawn in black ink by her daughter.
For fans, this means the search for Esmeralda is now public. No recovery has been announced, and the post drew quick sympathy and jokes in the replies about hotel lost property.
