A member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’s family says reports of a prison fight between the music executive and fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke are completely false.

The family member spoke to The Breakfast Club’s Loren LoRosa and said no fight took place. Billboard published that denial on October 15.

No fight occurred. That is the family’s position in full.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has also said the alleged altercation did not happen. Combs’s team told Billboard it believes the first reports were inaccurate, and that the family’s account lines up with what the team has determined.

The denials answer two reports published on October 14. Page Six reported that Combs had suffered a head injury after being reportedly attacked in prison by a Jamaican drug lord. The New York Daily News separately reported that Combs had suffered a head injury after an alleged beatdown by fellow inmate Dudus.

Those injury claims came only from those two reports. Neither has been confirmed by prison officials or by Combs’s representatives.

Page Six also reported a motive for the alleged attack, saying Combs had got other inmates in trouble. That explanation also rests on the initial reporting alone, and it has not been backed by an official statement.

Coke was identified in the coverage as the leader of the Shower Posse, a Jamaican criminal organisation. LoRosa reported that Combs and Coke are held on separate sides of the federal prison at Fort Dix in New Jersey and do not regularly interact.

Fort Dix is a low-security federal correctional facility in southern New Jersey, a prison category with fewer movement restrictions than higher-security sites. NBC News reported on September 29 that Combs has spent thousands of dollars a month to bring parts of his outside lifestyle inside the facility. NBC News

Combs’s tentative release date is March 8, 2028. A tentative date is a projected date, and it can change with good conduct time and other prison calculations.

For readers catching up, this leaves the record short and clear. Two outlets reported an attack and an injury on October 14, and the family, the legal team and the prison service have since said it did not happen.
