A$AP Rocky Releases Shroom Clouds as Lead Single for Don't Be Dumb Disc 2

A$AP Rocky has released “Shroom Clouds” as the lead single for “Don’t Be Dumb – Disc 2.” The song arrived on streaming services for the first time on Friday, Oct. 16, according to Billboard.

“Disc 2” is described as a deluxe project. It follows the main “Don’t Be Dumb” album and extends its run with additional material.

“Shroom Clouds” was produced by A$AP Mob’s Hector Delgado. It was previously titled “Mushroom Clouds” before its official release.

Fans have heard it before. Rocky performed the song at a 420 Weedmaps event in 2021 and at Governors Ball that same year. He played it again during his Amazon Music Live set in 2022.

Rocky explained the idea behind the second disc in an interview with Complex. He said “Disc 2” consists of songs that his alter egos did not get an album to live on. That interview also addresses AI in music.

The release continues a busy return for the rapper. “Don’t Be Dumb” was his first LP since 2018’s “TESTING.”

It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 123,000 album-equivalent units, the measure that converts plays and sales into album sales. That gave Rocky his first No. 1 in over a decade.

Rocky will take the album on the road next. He will bring the Don’t Be Dumb World Tour to five arenas across Australia and New Zealand in December.

For fans, this means a long-circulating live cut is now available as a studio single. It also sets up the next phase of the “Don’t Be Dumb” rollout.
