William and Catherine visit Cornwall as Harry and Meghan step out in Nottingham

Prince William and Princess Catherine spent Thursday, Oct. 15, touring new homes in Cornwall while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle greeted crowds in Nottingham on their first joint outing since moving back to Britain.
The two visits unfolded hours apart. One drew little attention at the time. The other drew cameras.
Kensington Palace confirmed that William and Catherine spent Thursday afternoon in Nansledan, a sustainable urban extension to the seaside town of Newquay in Cornwall, HELLO!. Nansledan is built on land owned and managed by the Duchy of Cornwall, the private estate that funds the heir to the throne.
The Duchy was founded by Edward III in 1337 and passes automatically to the eldest surviving son and heir of the British monarch. William inherited it in September 2022 after his father’s accession. It stretches across 21 counties in England and Wales and includes the Oval Cricket Ground in London and 67,000 acres of Dartmoor.
In Nottingham, Harry and Meghan made their first joint appearance since returning to the U.K. Meghan told well-wishers, “It’s great to be back,” during the visit, PEOPLE. The city holds a personal link for the couple. They chose it for their first joint official visit after announcing their engagement in December 2017.
Elsewhere on the royal diary, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the ceremonial opening of the seventh Senedd in Cardiff, Wales. The Senedd is the Welsh parliament.
There was no joint meeting between the two couples. A source told PEOPLE on Oct. 7 that Harry and Meghan are not planning to apologise to William and Catherine, PEOPLE. The claim rests entirely on that unnamed source.
For fans, this means a busy new pattern to watch. The Waleses on Duchy ground in the south-west, the Sussexes back on public engagements in England, and the King and Queen on constitutional duty in Wales, all on the same day.
