Harry and Meghan return to Nottingham as charity sweatshirt sells out

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will visit Nottingham on Thursday, Oct. 15, for their first joint public engagement since returning to the UK, as reported by HELLO!. The visit is listed as their first official joint outing together back in Britain, according to PEOPLE. Nottingham is familiar ground.
The couple made their first joint appearance after announcing their engagement in Nottingham in 2017. This time they are due to visit community projects including the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in the city, a local music and youth project.
Ahead of the trip, a charity sweatshirt designed by Meghan Markle sold out within hours. The sweatshirt was priced at $100 (£75) for Moms Offering More, a charity founded by Kasondra Herrendorf-Cohen. It is neutral-toned with the words ‘It’s the Little Things’ embroidered in chocolate brown across the back and at the sleeve.
Meghan Markle promoted the sweatshirt on Instagram on Sunday with a photograph of herself wearing it. It sold out in hours. The post put the charity’s name and the $100 price tag directly in front of her followers.
On the same day she shared a family video filmed in a deer park. It featured her children Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five, walking through the park. Archie rode a scooter while Lilibet walked behind, both wearing backpacks, with Lilibet’s pink rucksack matching her dress. The family’s Labrador, Pula, walked with them. The clip was soundtracked with The Temptations’ song ‘My Girl’.
The Nottingham visit is a public engagement, not a return to royal duties. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020. A letter sent on the King’s instruction stated that the couple should be viewed as private citizens and reiterated that they cannot use the titles His and Her Royal Highness. A spokesperson for the couple said they were surprised not to have been told about the letter in advance.
The couple returned to the UK from the US before the Nottingham visit, after six years living in the US, as reported by Reuters. Archie and Lilibet were to start at a UK school following the move. They will not return to royal duties. Earlier coverage also reported that Meghan Markle had been in talks to appear in a Guy Ritchie Netflix crime drama, with a later report saying the offer was withdrawn following backlash.
What makes this stand out is the symmetry. Nottingham was where the couple first stepped out together after their engagement announcement. Nine years on, they are going back for community projects and a charity-led week that has already produced a sell-out.
