New art centre Le Large opens on island outside Paris

Le Large, a new contemporary art centre on Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, just outside Paris, opens to the public on 17 and 18 October 2026. The centre is dedicated to French contemporary art. Its first show is called "Moteur Imaginaire".
The exhibition runs from 17 October 2026 to 7 March 2027, according to Wallpaper. It draws on works collected by Renault, the automaker, which has built its own company art collection over decades. That gives visitors a chance to see corporate holdings in a public gallery setting.
The building is big. It spans about 54,000 square feet, as reported by Smithsonian Magazine. It was designed by RCR Arquitectes. It sits within a wider Île Seguin development that also includes an IMAX cinema.
Emerige, the development group, is opening Le Large that October weekend, Art Basel reported. Laurent Dumas serves as president of Large. Dumas is known in France as a collector and property developer.
Here is the practical information. Large is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm, with late opening until 9pm on Fridays. Admission is €15, with a reduced rate of €10, and free entry for visitors under 26, according to Paris je t'aime.
What makes this stand out is the location. Île Seguin is an island in the Seine, a short trip from central Paris. For fans, this means a full day out. See the show, catch a film, walk the riverbanks.
