Roger Sanchez releases Spectrum Refracted on 16 October. The six-track project takes songs from his third studio album, Spectrum, reworks them as remixes and adds a new song, according to Billboard.

The set includes collaborations with Mel C and Kristen Knight, plus an edit from David Morales. Billboard described the release as a compact remix package rather than a separate full album. It follows Spectrum, which was Sanchez's first album in 20 years.

RetroPop billed Spectrum Refracted as an expanded edition of that return, with 16 October given as the release date. An expanded edition, in industry terms, keeps the core album and adds extra or reworked material around it.

Sanchez is a New York house DJ and producer with two chart-topping club records to his name. His track "Another Chance" came out in 2001 and reached No. 1 on the U.K. Singles chart, the weekly ranking compiled by the Official Charts Company. His later single "Lost" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart in 2006.

His remix work extends beyond his own releases. He has delivered official remixes for Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Jamiroquai, Daft Punk and No Doubt. His remix of No Doubt's "Hella Good" won the Grammy for Best Remixed Recording in 2003.

For listeners meeting him through this release, that history matters. Spectrum Refracted is short at six tracks. It is built to be played loud and in sequence, with familiar voices next to new production.
