MEOVV took “DDI RO RI” to Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong for the second annual TMElive International Music Awards.

The five-member girl group, formed by The Black Label in 2024, performed the song from “BITE NOW” during the show. Billboard met the members in the backstage area, the working space behind the stage where performers wait before they play, and the interview was released as part of an episode of Billboard All Access on Oct. 16, Billboard reported.

The awards ran across two days, Aug. 22-23, with more than 30 acts on the bill. The group appeared as part of a packed two-day running order in Hong Kong. The 2026 edition was also live-streamed on Weverse, a platform that lets fans watch live video online, according to Weverse. That stream gave people outside the stadium a way to follow the shows in real time.

For readers new to the format, the set-up is simple. A girl group is a vocal act with several members who sing and perform together. An awards show puts many acts on one stage over one or two nights. A backstage interview catches them minutes before or after they play.

Backstage, the conversation turned to confidence. Member Narin said MEOVV can sometimes feel insecure and low on confidence. That feeling shifts when the music starts. Listening to their own songs or walking out to perform leaves them feeling powerful and strong.

The mood was light. Member Ella was asked about studio habits, the routine of rehearsing and recording together. She said Anna is the most serious in the studio. She named herself and Sooin as the silliest pair in the room.

What makes this stand out is the contrast. The studio asks for focus. The stage asks for nerve. A short chat in a corridor cannot capture all of it, but it gives a sense of how the members share those jobs.

For fans, this means two things to hold onto. One song, played live in Hong Kong. And a brief look at how the five talk about confidence, work and humour when the show is close.
