Orville Peck tried to text Kylie Minogue into Street Fighter cameo

Orville Peck offered to text Kylie Minogue to get her back into Street Fighter.
Peck plays Vega in Paramount's newly released Street Fighter film. He said producers wanted Minogue for a cameo, a brief surprise appearance, but were having trouble reaching her, according to Deadline.
His reply was simple. "Guys, I can text her."
The idea was a link between two versions of the game on screen. Minogue played Cammy in the original Street Fighter film. Mel Jarnson plays Cammy in the new adaptation, which is directed by Kitao Sakurai and based on the Capcom game.
Peck was speaking in an interview with Queerty, published on 16 October 2026 and written by Cameron Scheetz. The conversation also touched on Vega's gay appeal, according to Queerty.
Peck said he tried to organise the return himself. Minogue was willing. She was "so down to do it."
Timing got in the way. Peck said scheduling conflicts stopped the cameo from happening.
The two singers already know each other well. In 2024, Peck featured Minogue and Diplo on "Midnight Ride" from his album Stampede. Minogue told Peck that filming the original Street Fighter was one of the most fun experiences of her life.
Peck has not dropped the plan entirely. He said he is still trying to arrange a meeting between Minogue and Jarnson. He also left the door open for a follow-up, saying, "Maybe the sequel, we'll see."
For fans, this means the crossover lives on as a near miss. A pop star, a text message, and a schedule that did not line up.
