Trauma Code: Heroes on Call Back for Seasons 2 and 3

Netflix has put The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call into production on Seasons 2 and 3, doubling its bet on the Korean medical drama. The two-season order was confirmed on 19 October, according to Deadline.
Ju Ji-hoon returns as Baek Kang-hyuk, the blunt, brilliant trauma surgeon at the centre of the show. He is joined again by Choo Young-woo as Yang Jae-won, Yoon Kyung-ho as Han Yu-rim and Jeong Jae-kwang as anaesthetist Park Gyeong-won.
There is one new face in the trauma unit. Jeong Ye-in has joined the ensemble as Nurse Cheon Jang-mi, a new regular for the next chapters.
Behind the camera, there is continuity too. Lee Do-yun, who directed Season 1, will direct both new seasons and is writing the scripts. Studio N and Mays Entertainment are attached as co-producers, and the series is based on the webtoon Trauma Center: Golden Hour.
For anyone new to the show, it follows Baek as he takes charge of the trauma team at Hankuk hospital. A former combat surgeon in war zones around the world, he arrives with one mission: to revolutionise trauma care in South Korea, as described by Netflix Tudum. Season 1 ran for eight episodes, according to Netflix Tudum.
The return did not come from nowhere. Season 1 reached the Top 10 in 63 countries and topped the chart in 18 countries.
What makes this stand out is the scale of the commitment. Ordering two seasons at once keeps the core team together and gives the writers room to plan a longer story. For fans, this means more time with Baek and his team, with no long wait between announcements to wonder if the show will survive.
