Hideo Kojima to voice Hideyoshi Oshima in Edgerunners Season 2

Hideo Kojima is returning to Night City. He will voice Hideyoshi Oshima in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, which is set to start on Netflix on October 20, 2026, according to Video Games Chronicle.
The casting was confirmed on October 19, 2026. Both the official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners X account and the show's Instagram account named Kojima as the voice of Oshima for the new season.
Oshima is not a newcomer to this world. In the series he is depicted as a producer of braindance, a technology that records and plays back experiences including senses, emotions and thoughts. It is the in-story media business of Night City, where memories can be bought, sold and replayed.
Game players will recognise the name. Kojima previously appeared in Cyberpunk 2077 as Hideyoshi Oshima during the mission The Heist. The character sits at a table at the back of the hotel bar, a brief on-screen cameo in the early hours of the game.
The new role goes further. Oshima will again be voiced by Kojima himself, rather than appearing as a silent background face. That detail was part of the October 19 announcement.
CD PROJEKT RED's official Cyberpunk news page had already listed an official teaser for the second season, dated June 29, 2026, pointing to the Netflix return.
What makes this stand out is the loop it closes. Kojima moved from a quiet bar seat in the game to a speaking part in its animated spin-off. He speaks this time. Fans will hear him on October 20.
