Justine Lupe to Lead Amazon Romantic Comedy Settling in Development

Justine Lupe will star as Jessy in Settling, a half-hour romantic comedy developing at Amazon. The series was created by Briana Pozner and Colin Lupe, with Pozner writing. Deadline reported the development on 19 October 2026.
Amazon has optioned the script for development. That is an early stage in television, meaning the streamer holds the rights to work on the project but has not ordered a pilot or a series. No episode count or release date has been announced.
The half-hour tag puts it in television's traditional comedy slot, with episodes built around a 30-minute window. Romantic comedy describes its tone, blending relationship storytelling with humour.
Pozner wrote the pilot script, the test episode writers use to launch a new show idea. Will Gluck is attached to direct if the project moves forward. He will also executive produce alongside Pozner, star Lupe, Colin Lupe and Leigh Kittay.
The road to Amazon ran through two production companies. Michael Eisner's Tornante first optioned the pilot script, securing the rights to shop it. Tornante then partnered with Olive Bridge Entertainment, Gluck's company, to bring it to the streamer.
Adam Londy will executive produce for Tornante. Gluck and Madison Jones will do the same for Olive Bridge. The credit, common in television, covers senior oversight of creative and production decisions.
Lupe arrives with two high-profile television roles. She played Willa Ferreya in HBO's Succession, the drama about a family fighting for control of a media empire. She now appears as Morgan in Netflix's Nobody Wants This, a comedy series. That performance brought her a Critics Choice nomination for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
Gluck is known for big-screen romance. He directed and produced Anyone But You, Sony Pictures' romantic comedy starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. His attachment links Settling to a director with recent experience in the genre.
What happens next is in Amazon's hands. Development can end with a series order, a pilot order, or no further progress. For now, Settling remains a script with a star, a writer, a director and a producing team attached. Further casting, filming dates and a premiere window have not been disclosed.
