Darren Criss pulled a genuine surprise in London on Sunday, Oct. 18, walking Chris Colfer on stage at the Royal Albert Hall for their first performance together in more than a decade.

They sang “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” together. The duet was a direct call-back to their time on Glee, where the song featured in the season two episode “A Very Glee Christmas”, according to Billboard.

That Glee recording reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100, the main singles chart in the United States, in 2010. Criss joined the show that same year in season two as Blaine Anderson. Colfer played Kurt Hummel. The series finished after seven seasons in 2015.

The appearance came during Criss’s debut at the London venue, played as two back-to-back performances on the same night. The hall had billed the date as a very special one-night-only concert in its Auditorium, according to its listing for Sunday 18 October 2026, Royal Albert Hall. Colfer’s arrival was kept under wraps, with Variety reporting it as a surprise for the audience.

It was not the only guest spot of the night. Alan Cumming joined Criss for ABBA’s “Does Your Mother Know”. Jesse Tyler Ferguson teamed up with him for Adele’s “Someone Like You”. Sarah Hyland sang “Suddenly Seymour” from Little Shop of Horrors with him.

Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo also took the stage for “Lost Boys Life”. Criss wrote and recorded the original song with his late brother, Chuck Criss, for their band Computer Games.

There was a nod to Criss’s earlier career too. He co-created A Very Potter Musical as a student at the University of Michigan. At the Hall, he performed “Goin’ Back to Hogwarts” from that show with Alex Newell, Jak Malone, Natasha Hodgson and Andrew Barth Feldman.

He closed both shows with a local youth choir. Together they sang Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know” and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”.

For fans, this means a long wait is over. Criss and Colfer defined one of Glee’s central relationships. Hearing those two voices together again, live and unannounced, is why the room reacted the way it did.
