Umamusume: Pretty Derby will not make its United States stage debut this week after visa problems forced the cancellation of two Los Angeles concerts.

The team behind the franchise said on 20 October 2026 that performers had been unable to obtain the necessary visas for entry into the US. That decision ended plans for shows scheduled for 22 and 23 October 2026 in Los Angeles, just two days before opening night, according to Eurogamer.

The concerts were billed as “7th EVENT: THE STAGE in LOS ANGELES.” They would have been the franchise’s first concerts in the US, as reported by Kotaku. Both in-person and digital tickets had been offered, and both types are now being refunded.

The cancellation followed a warning issued a day earlier. On 19 October 2026, the official English Umamusume: Pretty Derby account said visas for the 22-23 October dates had yet to be approved and the concerts were at risk. At that stage, the team said it was coordinating with all concerned parties to explore every possible option to secure approval, according to Anime News Network.

By 20 October, that effort had run out of road. In a statement posted by the official English account on X, the developers said they had coordinated repeatedly with all parties concerned and explored every possible option before concluding the concerts were no longer possible, as reported by Eurogamer.

For fans, this means no replacement dates yet and no partial staging. Ticket holders do not need to take extra steps beyond watching for refund information from their point of purchase. The short gap between warning and cancellation left little time to rearrange travel.

What makes this stand out is the timing. Visa approvals often arrive late in international touring. Here the wait continued until two days before showtime, turning a first US appearance into a cancellation rather than a postponement.
