Christie Brinkley is opening up boxes of letters, journals and home movies for a three-part documentary series about her life.

Uptown Girl: The Christie Brinkley Story — a docuseries, meaning a documentary told across episodes — has been greenlit by Fox Nation, meaning the streamer has commissioned it to be made. It is set to premiere in 2027, according to Fox Nation.

The series is produced by Lionsgate Alternative Television and directed by Larissa Bills. Fox Entertainment Global, the sales arm of Fox Entertainment, is distributing it to buyers outside the United States. Deadline reported the details from Cannes, where the show was a key title on Fox's MIPCOM slate, MIPCOM being the international TV market where channels and streamers shop for programmes.

The heart of the project is Brinkley's personal archive. She documented her life in writing and on film, and described much of that material as never before seen. The series will also draw on her artwork and personal recordings, Fox Nation said, alongside present-day verité footage, meaning cameras following her as life happens now.

Some of that archive will look familiar. A portion was previously used in the HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes, about her ex-husband Billy Joel. Brinkley said she held other footage back from those filmmakers to keep it for her own story.

The three parts will trace her early years as an artist, life on the road with Joel, marriage, motherhood and private heartbreak. It will also revisit a helicopter crash that nearly claimed her life.

Brinkley spoke about the project in Cannes, where she left a handprint on the Chemin des Etoiles walk of fame. Fox Nation first announced its deal with Brinkley on 1 October 2026, via its press site. No exact premiere date beyond 2027 has been announced.

For viewers, this means one life told in three chapters. Old film and new footage side by side, with Brinkley herself opening the boxes.
