U2 will headline the halftime show for Netflix's Thanksgiving Eve NFL game on Nov. 25.

The Dublin band will perform during the Los Angeles Rams' home game against the Green Bay Packers at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, played the night before Thanksgiving in the United States, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Oct. 20.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said U2 would perform on the NFL stage on Netflix for football fans and Netflix members worldwide.

The slot puts one of rock's longest-running acts in front of a holiday-week football crowd. It also gives Netflix a music headliner for a game it will carry on its service.

U2 knows the scale of football television. The band last played at an NFL game at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2002, when the set included a tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.

That history matters for casual viewers. A halftime show, the short concert staged on the field during the long mid-game break, has become a draw in its own right. Viewers who never watch a full season will tune in for a 12-minute set. This one lands in prime time on a new football night.

The night itself is new. The NFL was reported in March to be considering a Thanksgiving Eve game for the 2026 season, with Reuters and The Athletic both carrying the early reporting. Netflix later landed the matchup, with the Rams confirmed as hosts to the Packers in May.

The order of events tells the story of how the slot was built. First came the league's interest in adding the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Then came Netflix as the home for the first edition. Now comes the halftime act to complete the evening.

What makes this stand out is the packaging. Netflix built its business on series and films viewers start whenever they like. Live NFL is the opposite. Everyone watches together. A global halftime booking signals Netflix wants that shared moment, not just another fixture in the schedule.

For fans, this means a simple plan. One game. One night. One show in the middle. Tune in on Nov. 25 from SoFi Stadium to get all three at once, with football anchoring the night and music carrying the interval.
