Netflix will launch Scout Elf Squad, the preschool series from The Elf on the Shelf organisation, on 4 November.

The agreement is an output deal, meaning new programmes from the company go to Netflix first. The Hollywood Reporter reported the deal on 20 October 2026. It gives Netflix the first window on new stories from the Christmas brand, rather than just repeats of older specials.

The Lumistella Company owns The Elf on the Shelf. The business was co-founded by twin sisters Chanda A. Bell and Christa Pitts. Bell serves as co-founder and co-CEO.

Scout Elf Squad is built for the youngest viewers. It is the brand's first animated series developed specifically for a preschool audience, as noted by Animation Magazine. Preschool shows are typically organised around short episodes and simple, social lessons for children aged about two to five. Four elves lead the cast here. They are Frostina, Shiver, Snowdrop and Blizzard.

The show is not starting from scratch. It first appeared on The Elf on the Shelf YouTube channel, where it began streaming on 24 November 2025, according to Animation World Network. That YouTube launch celebrated 20 years of The Elf on the Shelf. It gave families free access at any time, without a subscription.

Netflix is already familiar ground for the elves. The service carries several Elf on the Shelf specials that premiered in other places, including CBS, DVD and Cartoon Network. Those are licensed titles, meaning Netflix bought the right to show programmes made for elsewhere. The new arrangement is different. It covers fresh episodes made under the Netflix deal.

Those fresh episodes will follow a common television pattern called windowing. New episodes arrive on Netflix first and move to YouTube later. The YouTube channel remains part of the plan, just second in line.

Young viewers do not have to wait until November to meet the squad. A sneak peek Halloween episode is already available on YouTube. It offers an early look before the Netflix premiere.

For families, this means a simple choice. Watch the new run on Netflix from 4 November. Catch up later on YouTube when those episodes complete their first window.
