Deadstream Directors to Helm Reddit Horror Future Me

The directors behind Deadstream are turning an inbox nightmare into their next horror film. Joseph and Vanessa Winter will direct Future Me, a horror-thriller based on a viral Reddit short story by Daria Vasileva, as reported by Variety.
The story first appeared on NoSleep, Reddit's forum for original horror fiction. It follows a man who receives a disturbing email from his past self through FutureMe, a real website that lets users write messages for delivery years later. The email was meant for him. It should not feel wrong.
The Winters are a husband-and-wife filmmaking team. They made their feature debut with Deadstream, a haunted-house comedy-horror that premiered at SXSW in 2022 before streamer Shudder acquired it, according to Variety. They later directed “To Hell and Back” for V/H/S/99, a found-footage anthology told through fake home videos and recovered tapes.
Future Me is the first title under a multi-picture deal between Longevity Pictures, Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios. Majd Nassif will produce for Longevity alongside Steven Schneider and Roy Lee for Spooky Pictures. Ben Ross of Image Nation Studios and Aysel Lyatifova of Longevity Pictures will serve as executive producers, as reported by Variety.
The three companies have worked together before. Their earlier collaboration was Home Safety Hotline, an upcoming horror thriller directed by Michael Matthews. That project is based on the puzzle video game of the same name from Night Signal Entertainment.
What makes this stand out is the route to the screen. NoSleep stories start as posts for strangers to read late at night. This one now has studio backing, franchise-minded producers and directors who know low-budget scares.
