Hulu has released the first trailer for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County. It is the first extension of the Mormon Wives franchise, meaning a new series built from the same brand with a fresh cast. All eight episodes will stream on Hulu on 12 November, arriving together rather than week by week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The spinoff stars nine women. They are Jen Affleck, Aspyn Ovard, Ashleigh Pease, Avery Woods, Bobbi Althoff, Jordan McClanahan, Madison Bontempo, McCall DaPron and Salome Andre. Affleck is the familiar face for returning viewers. A spinoff keeps a title viewers recognise while starting fresh with new faces.

She moves to Southern California in the new series after competing on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, the celebrity dance contest. DaPron also arrives with a direct link to the original show. She is the sister of original Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley.

Althoff joins from outside reality television. She is known as the host of the Really Good Podcast. The trailer gives each woman a quick introduction, and one early moment features Ovard discussing her polyamorous relationship.

Hulu describes the show as following a new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County, in a community where beliefs shape both behaviour and identity. That wording comes from the series listing on Hulu. The focus is motherhood, friendship and faith inside one tight local circle. Orange County becomes the new home base for this branch of the story.

In the United States the series will sit on Hulu, including Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers who pay for both services together. Internationally it will be available on Disney+, according to Hulu's press site. The press site also carries a dedicated show page for the Orange County series. That gives American viewers a Hulu route and overseas viewers a Disney+ route.

PEOPLE published an exclusive first look at the season one trailer on 20 October, the same day the trailer news was reported, PEOPLE. Short version: new city, new mums, same brand. For viewers, this means one date to remember. All eight arrive at once on 12 November, so viewers can watch in one go or spread them across nights.
