Egg Baby Adds Seven Young Cast Members at Amazon MGM
Amazon MGM Studios has added seven young actors to the cast of Egg Baby, a romantic comedy about two teenagers who must care for an egg as if it were a child. Deadline broke the news as an exclusive on 21 October 2026.
The newcomers are Holly Barrett, Arica Himmel, Loki Olin, Isaac Arellanes, Conor Sherry, Lilia Ireland and Rosie Gavin. Deadline reported that Barrett has an upcoming role in Universal's The Comeback King, Olin has one in Heavy Hitters, and Himmel previously appeared in The Rise & Fall of Reggie Dinkins. Arellanes was in A Million Miles Away, and Sherry was in Reversing Falls. The studio has not revealed who they will play.
The film's premise is simple to explain. A rebellious artist and a golden-boy quarterback are forced to co-parent an egg for a health class. The story is a school assignment turned into a love story, and the egg is the only thing both characters have to look after together.
The lead roles belong to Ariana Greenblatt and Kingston Rumi Southwick. Arthur Conti, Michelle Rodriguez and Jean Smart also appear in the cast. BroadwayWorld reported in September that Rodriguez had joined the film, which is directed by Natalia Anderson and will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.
The project has been moving for some time. Yahoo Entertainment reported in June that Amazon MGM had snapped up the romantic comedy, with Greenblatt set to star. Sawyer Perry wrote the screenplay. XYZ Films is producing alongside Allison Friedman, in association with BuzzFeed Studios.
Casting is one of the first visible steps in bringing a film like this to screens. A studio often announces supporting players in batches, months before the cameras roll, so that the film's profile builds in the trade press. The film's arrival in cinemas or on streaming is still unannounced.
For the young actors, the list is a mix of first big roles and early credits. Several of them are attached to projects from other studios, which is common for performers at this stage of their careers. Their names will be the ones to watch as the film's details come out.
