Tanner Buchanan and Peyton Elizabeth Lee Lead Music Road Movie Gasoline
Tanner Buchanan and Peyton Elizabeth Lee have landed the lead roles in Gasoline, a music-focused road film, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 21 October 2026.
James Merendino is directing the film from his own script. He is best known for SLC Punk!, a cult film that has built a following over the years.
Buchanan plays Eric Casey, a young singer who takes his teenage brothers on a van tour across the country during the summer of 1994. Lee plays Ivy, a punk rocker who meets Eric along the way.
Elliott Fullam, Finn Douglas and Oscar O'Meara round out the cast. The four actors who play the band are real-life musicians. Buchanan sings lead vocals, Douglas plays bass, Fullam plays guitar and O'Meara plays drums.
The story is based on real events involving the punk band Eight Buck Experiment. The band's founder, Evan O'Meara, is a producer on the film.
Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof are producing for Intrinsic Value Films. Kate Geller handled the casting.
For a film about a band on the road, using working musicians in the group is a practical choice. It also means the on-stage scenes will rely on performers who already know how to play live, rather than actors learning instruments from scratch.
