BET has ordered a second season of its stand-up series ComicView: Rooftop Series, with 20 more episodes. Variety reported the renewal on October 21, 2026.

A renewal means the network has chosen to keep the show going and has paid for another run. Season 2 is a bigger order than the first, which Variety reported as a 10-episode revival in June.

The show premiered on BET in June. It is filmed outside on a rooftop in Hollywood, where 60 comedians perform for the cameras. Each episode is built around a handful of acts rather than one headliner, so the lineup changes from week to week.

Chris "CP" Powell returns as host. He is the link between the two seasons, and he has been busy elsewhere this year too. BET brought his 60-minute stand-up special, Sunday After Six, to screens on September 1, according to a BET press release.

The Season 2 lineup includes Affion Crockett, Cocoa Brown, Lavell Crawford and Luenell. Aisha Summers-Burke, executive vice president and head of creative at BET Studios, gave a statement on the renewal. The series is executive produced by Jeru Tillman for Southfield Village Entertainment.

For a longer view of the title, the franchise has a long history on television. The original ComicView first aired in 1992 as a national showcase for up-and-coming comics. It rotated hosts through its run until 2008, came back briefly in 2014, and returned in 2024 as a four-episode series hosted by Mike Epps. That 2024 run was taped at Kevin Hart's Hartbeat Weekend in Las Vegas.

What this means for viewers is simple. There is a new block of episodes to look forward to, with the same format and a familiar host. The 2026 run carried the show from one season into a second, and the network has now committed to more.

For the people behind the camera, a renewal keeps a production team working. Writers, producers, crew and the comedians themselves now have a second season to plan for. BET has not announced a premiere date for Season 2.
