Jay Chandrasekhar is stepping onto the stand-up stage alone for the first time. His debut solo special, Brown Supremacist, begins streaming on Veeps at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, August 20, 2026, Deadline reported exclusively on August 5.

Chandrasekhar is best known as a founding member of Broken Lizard, the comedy troupe behind Super Troopers, Beerfest and Club Dread. The group traces its roots back to Colgate University, where they originally performed under the name Charred Goosebeak. Chandrasekhar has been with the troupe since those college days.

The special was taped at Thalia Hall in Chicago. In it, Chandrasekhar delivers edgy, joke-filled stories drawn from his life as a comedian and filmmaker — covering sex, race, and the time he got high with Willie Nelson. Brown Supremacist is executive produced by Chandrasekhar and Todd Stiefel, with Matt Schuler producing.

Before this solo outing, Chandrasekhar directed and performed in the joint special Broken Lizard Stands Up, released in 2010. The new special marks his first time headlining a stand-up hour on his own.

The premiere lands just under two weeks after Super Troopers 3 arrives in theatres on August 7, 2026. Chandrasekhar directed the film and stars alongside the rest of Broken Lizard, as reported in late July. So fans get a feature film and a stand-up special from the same comedian within a fortnight.

Chandrasekhar's directing career extends well beyond the Broken Lizard titles. He helmed the 2005 big-screen adaptation of The Dukes of Hazzard for Warner Bros., along with Super Troopers, Beerfest and other films. On television, his directing credits include Arrested Development, Community, Happy Endings, Psych, Chuck, Undeclared, Blue Mountain State, Up All Night, Royal Pains, The Human Giant and Animal Control.

He continues to tour the country performing stand-up and is repped by UTA and Cinetic Media. Veeps, the streaming platform hosting the special, is a live-streaming and on-demand service focused on concerts and comedy — a natural home for a performer who has spent decades on stage and on set.

For fans of Broken Lizard's film work, Brown Supremacist offers something the movies have not: Chandrasekhar unfiltered, on his own, telling the stories behind the career.
