Tommy Bahama is releasing a limited-edition clothing capsule at Ray's Hometown Bar in Miami, with a week of drinks, events and beach-chair perks to go with it. The range goes on sale on Nov. 9, the first day of the bar's weeklong takeover, according to WWD.

A capsule is a small, short-run collection released as a self-contained set of products. Tommy Bahama is the resort-wear label whose clothing is sold through shops and online. Ray's Hometown Bar is based on New York's Lower East Side, and its owner, Authentic Hospitality, has also opened the bar in Brooklyn, Detroit and Miami.

The two companies have worked together before. In 2024, Tommy Bahama and Ray's Lower East Side released a capsule of silk camp shirts and hats, and it was marked with events in New York. Camp shirts are loose, short-sleeved shirts, often printed, that are a staple of the brand's range.

The new capsule includes a silk camp shirt with custom Ray's Miami graphics, a limited-edition T-shirt and a cap. Its colours are teal and coral, which the brand says were inspired by Miami's architecture and the Florida landscape. The collection also carries an updated version of Tommy Bahama's marlin logo, along with the tagline "Drink 'em with or without bait."

The merchandise sits inside a week of events at Ray's Miami, running from Nov. 9 to 15. The takeover will include special programming and cocktails inspired by Tommy Bahama, along with daily happy hours, which are reduced-price drinks sold early in the evening.

The main event is a launch party on Nov. 12. Visitors can buy product there, stop at a cigar-cutting station and spin a wheel to win prizes. Cigar cutting is a demonstration in which a cigar is trimmed to be smoked.

Guests at the Freehand Miami, a boutique hotel where the bar is located, will also get something on the side. Tommy Bahama will give hotel guests free use of its branded beach chairs and umbrellas for the length of the takeover.

For a brand known for resort clothes, the week puts the product in the places where people are already drinking and lounging. The bar's Miami location is the setting for both the shirts and the cocktails.

Tommy Bahama and Authentic Hospitality have not announced whether the capsule will be released beyond Miami and online. Details on prices were not part of the announcement.
