ABC stations have renewed Home for Good for a second season, and the new episodes will begin airing on January 9. The renewal was announced by Deadline.

The show is a half-hour home renovation series. Each episode transforms a room or a personal space for someone who serves their community. Art Edmonds hosts.

Season 2 will keep featuring first responders. It will also turn its attention to educators, mentors and volunteers who support families in need. The change in focus is the main thing the new season adds to the format, and the show's central idea stays the same: a renovation for a person who gives time to others.

Home for Good first aired on ABC stations nationwide on weekend mornings, starting Saturday, April 4. It runs in ABC's Weekend Adventure block, a stretch of educational and informational programming. Kidde, the home safety company, works with the show to promote fire and carbon monoxide safety.

The series is produced by Hearst Media Production Group, which Bryan Curb leads as president. It is made in partnership with Epic Entertainment and Media Group and Kidde.

For the crews who build these rooms, a renewal means more work and more homes to finish. For the families who receive them, it means another season of changes made for people who often put others first.

Renewals like this one are common for shows that run on local stations, where a steady weekend slot can keep a series on the schedule year after year. The next episodes arrive on January 9.
