LEGO and Daft Punk Announce Partnership, Starting With a Fan's Pyramid Stage

The LEGO Group has announced a partnership with Daft Punk, the French electronic duo, and the project began as a fan's build. Billboard reported the news on 22 October 2026.
The announcement came in a short film. It features minifigures, LEGO's small plastic figures, representing Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, the two members of Daft Punk. LEGO said the Daft Punk robots are entering the LEGO universe as part of the partnership, and that the collaboration aims to inspire and remix fandoms. Cédric Hervet is creative director for Daft Punk.
The partnership promises products, content and brand experiences. More details are due in 2027, so no product names, prices or release dates have been confirmed yet.
The idea started with LEGO Ideas, the company's platform where fans submit designs that could become official sets. The submission came from a father and son in Luxembourg, identified as Patrick Harboun. They began the project as a family effort during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, and it recreates the pyramid-shaped stage from Daft Punk's 2007 Alive tour.
That design won the Grand Prize in the LEGO Ideas Music to Our Ears challenge in 2020. Fans had tried this before. A 2014 LEGO Ideas project proposed an official set based on the same Alive 2007 tour.
Other fan designs show how the stage might work in brick form. One LEGO Ideas entry titled Daft Punk Concert uses a motor-powered rotating box of transparent bricks inside a pyramid, with a set of lights dangling inside the box. My Modern Met listed that design at 2,000 pieces. Those details describe fan designs, not the official product, and the company has not said which, if any, of them will be used.
For fans, the news is the latest stage of a long-running story. A band that built its live show around a glowing pyramid now has its robots in the same toy bricks that many of them grew up with. For the families who built the first version, it is also a reminder that a lockdown hobby can end up in a company's newsroom.
The partnership also raises a practical question that will take a while to answer. Official LEGO sets go through design, testing and manufacturing before they reach shops. Until the company confirms specifics in 2027, the Daft Punk pyramid remains a fan design with a corporate partner standing behind the idea.
