Chris Harrison's 'The Vow' Promos Set for Local ABC Stations

Promos for Fox Nation's new dating series The Vow are slated to run on several ABC stations in roughly a dozen local markets, according to a person familiar with the matter, as Variety reported. The spots would appear in local ad inventory, meaning the commercial breaks that each station sells for itself rather than the network.
The new promo is expected to air on ABC stations in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas. It could also run during primetime shows such as ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
The ad features the show's host, Chris Harrison, who says, "I believe in true love. Always have." The closing graphics state that the show debuts on November 11 on Fox Nation, and rose petals appear on screen.
Harrison hosted ABC's The Bachelor for 25 seasons. That history is at the centre of the controversy. Warner Bros. Television recently sent a cease-and-desist letter, a formal demand to stop, to Fox News Media. It asked the company to stop making visual and creative references to The Bachelor in promotion for The Vow.
Fox News declined to make executives available for comment on the planned promo placement.
The show itself is Fox Nation's first original dating series, according to the network's September announcement. Its bachelor is 30-year-old Jace Cates. The series looks at whether shared values, faith, communication and long-term goals can build a relationship meant to last. Fox Nation's campaign for the return of Harrison, who has been out of the dating-show spotlight, uses the phrase "Choose Love."
For viewers, the main point is simple. The show arrives on Fox Nation on November 11, and the ads are the first step in getting it in front of people who do not already subscribe. Where and when those promos air on ABC is the part still being worked out, and the planned placement has not been confirmed by either company.
