The 30-second TV spot for Grand Theft Auto VI leaves out the shower scenes that appeared in the game's launch trailer. GameSpot reported the difference on October 22, 2026.

The short spot is not a straight trim of the trailer. It holds a slightly longer shot of an airplane sequence, and a slightly longer shot of protagonists Jason and Lucia standing next to their car. IGN describes one of those extended moments: Lucia nearly falls over when Jason nudges her while she leans on the car. The spot also drops the Xbox logo.

A longer, 90-second version of the commercial does include the shower scenes, along with the extended sequences from the 30-second cut. IGN reports that the commercial cuts three shower kissing scenes from the launch trailer. The 90-second version was spotted on NBC Sports.

The spot's arrival was reported before it was officially shown. On October 6, 2026, Forbes reported that a GTA 6 TV spot had appeared on a Fox affiliate's schedule. The leak traced back to a deleted Reddit post. At that point, Rockstar Games had not confirmed the spot.

Other details from the marketing have also surfaced. IGN reports that Sony's GTA 6 marketing calls the PS5 "the best place to play," and that Sony said the PlayStation 5 version will use the DualSense controller's speaker and haptic feedback, the vibration that lets players feel events in the game. Rockstar's trailer page says the game "Plays best on PlayStation 5." Official trailers and extended gameplay reveals were captured on PS5, according to IGN.

Away from the screen, IGN reports that real Burger Shot restaurants, the fictional chain from the GTA series, popped up at Miami's Kaseya Center. Camera crews also filmed GTA-branded sports cars driving around Miami. A PlayStation app logo has been given a GTA 6 colour scheme.

Earlier this year, a leaker posted unofficial footage in August that shows Jason exploring a "nudist town" area. The same leaker then polled followers on whether to release story spoilers. Rockstar has not confirmed that material.

The game is rated for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, and In-Game Purchases. Rockstar lists November 19, 2026 as the release date, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Jason and Lucia are the protagonists, and the story is set in Vice City, in the state of Leonida.

For fans planning the launch, the pre-order bonus includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. The next official trailers and spots will show how much of the game the marketing covers.
