Ted McGinley Narrates Beach Volleyball Documentary Kings of the Beach

Ted McGinley has been tapped to narrate Kings of the Beach, a documentary about the rise and fall of beach volleyball. The Hollywood Reporter reported the casting on 23 October 2026.
The film is set to debut on 3 November. Viewers will be able to buy or rent it on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango at Home, Google Play and YouTube. Buying gives you a digital copy to keep. Renting gives you a set period to watch it for a one-off fee.
The documentary was co-directed by David Johnson and Tom Feuer. It was produced by Coolfire Studios, a creative production company based in St. Louis, Missouri. A creative production company makes films, shows and other content for clients or for its own projects.
The film features a long list of people from the sport. Sinjin Smith, Karch Kiraly, Tim Hovland, Mike Dodd, Dain Blanton, Jim Menges, Steve Obradovich, Dane Selznick, Misty May-Treanor, Kerri Walsh Jennings and Holly McPeak all appear in it. Their presence means the story is told largely by people who played the game, so the rise and fall of the sport is traced from the inside.
McGinley was born and raised in Newport Beach, California, a coastal city in the south of the state. He currently stars in Apple TV's Shrinking. He is represented by Teitelbaum Artists Group, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher and Viewpoint.
The film has its own official Instagram account, under the handle @kingsofthebeachfilm. It also runs a YouTube channel under the name Kings Of The Beach Film, where fans can follow updates on the release.
For fans of the sport, the 3 November date is the one to mark. The film arrives on the same digital storefronts most people already use at home, so the route to watching it is short. Anyone curious about the story can start there.
