Benny and Miles Hook Up in Overcompensating Season 2, Benito Skinner Says

Benny and Miles hook up in the second season of Overcompensating, creator Benito Skinner has revealed. He shared the storyline with co-star Owen Thiele on Skinner's In Your Dreams podcast, as Deadline reported on 23 October 2026.
Skinner plays Benny in the Prime Video college series. Rish Shah plays Miles. Skinner said he gets asked about the hookup every day, so he is clearly ready for the questions.
The season also includes nudity. Skinner said he is half-naked this season and wears about 12 jock straps across it. He did not say which episodes contain those scenes.
Thiele's character, George, has a much bigger role in Season 2, according to the same report. Holmes has been promoted to series regular as Hailee. Guest parts go to Tom Francis as Declan Bishop, Aisha Dee as Naomi and AnnaSophia Robb as Chels.
Earlier this year, in June, Skinner told People that the new season is "nasty." He said he wanted to bring back the "specificity" that Season 1 fans responded to.
The show has a clear path behind it. Prime Video ordered the series in February 2024, with Skinner as a writer as well as its creator. The first season premiered on 15 May 2025 and ran eight episodes. Prime Video renewed it for a second season in September 2025. A24, Strong Baby and Amazon MGM Studios produce the show.
Overcompensating is semi-autobiographical. It draws on Skinner's own path to coming out while playing a college jock, the athlete who fits the sporty stereotype on the outside. That personal origin is one reason the series has been built around his voice.
For viewers, the news is simple. Season 2 is coming, the Benny and Miles storyline is at its centre, and George is taking up more space on screen. A season like this also means a full cast and crew back at work, from writers and actors to the teams who shoot and edit each episode. Those jobs are what a renewal really keeps going.
