Johnny Was and Natori Launch a Joint Loungewear Collection

Johnny Was and Josie Natori have launched a loungewear collaboration, according to WWD, the fashion trade publication that reported the launch on 26 October 2026.
The range is called Natori x Johnny Was. It includes silk robes, caftans (long, loose garments), pyjama sets and what the report describes as elevated loungewear, clothing made for relaxing at home that is dressed up a little. The collection is built around the idea of Artful Living, a concept the two brands share.
The designs draw on Natori's print archive, the brand's collection of earlier prints. The designers reworked signature motifs from that archive using Johnny Was's colour palette and embroidery techniques. In other words, an older Natori pattern takes on the bright colours and stitching that Johnny Was is known for.
The collection will be sold in Johnny Was' 72 stores across the United States. It will also be available online at johnnywas.com and natori.com.
Both labels have long histories. Johnny Was started in 1987. Oxford Industries, a US apparel company, bought it in September 2022 for USD 270 million. Lisa Kazor took over as president of Johnny Was in December 2025.
Natori was founded in 1977 by Josie Natori. It is a family-owned lifestyle brand that blends Eastern and Western influences, which it calls an East-meets-West aesthetic. Lifestyle brands sell across several product types, often clothing, sleepwear and home goods, under one name.
The partnership brings together two companies that have different founders, owners and histories. Their shared ground is a collection for the home, where the clothes are worn for comfort first.
