Alicia Keys has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation, with the agency announcing the signing on Monday, 3 August, according to Billboard.

Keys was previously booked by William Morris Endeavor (WME). The switch moves one of the most decorated artists in contemporary pop and R&B to a rival talent agency in a business where such jumps are standard but closely watched — agencies compete for clients because bookings, tours and endorsements flow through these relationships. Keys continues to be managed by Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z.

Her commercial record is the kind agencies use as a pitch deck. Keys has placed four singles at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the chart that tracks the most-consumed songs in the US each week — beginning with "Fallin'" in 2001 and running through "My Boo" with Usher (2004), "No One" (2007) and "Empire State Of Mind" with Jay-Z (2009). On the album side, five of her releases have topped the Billboard 200, the equivalent chart for full-length records: Songs In A Minor (2001), The Diary Of Alicia Keys (2003), Unplugged (2005), As I Am (2007) and Girl On Fire (2012).

Her most recent album, also titled Keys, reached No. 41 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2021. Keys is a 15-time Grammy winner (aliciakeys.com, hellskitchen.com), and a founding member of She Is The Music, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for women working across the music industry.

Beyond recording, Keys has expanded into theatre. She wrote the music and lyrics for Hell's Kitchen, a Broadway musical inspired by her own experiences growing up in New York (hellskitchen.com). The show's creative team page lists her involvement in the production, which adds a stage dimension to a career already spanning film, television and publishing — she is also a New York Times best-selling author.

CAA will now handle booking across those areas. The agency does not comment publicly on the specific terms of client deals, and no details of the arrangement — such as whether it covers worldwide or US representation — have been disclosed.
