Production has started on a full-length documentary about Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, and it is set to arrive on Hulu in fall 2027. The Hollywood Reporter reported the start of filming on 27 October 2026.

The film is called Fair Play: The Jordan Chiles Story. It is a feature documentary, meaning a long-form, real-life film rather than a scripted drama. Andscape is making it with two partners, Campfire Studios and Select Entertainment. Filmmaker Trishtan Williams is directing.

On the producing side, Ross M. Dinerstein and Allyson Holloway are producing for Campfire Studios. Anne Hazlett is the executive producer for Campfire. Lisa Filipelli, Amy Neben and Alexia Maitland are executive producers for Select Entertainment. An executive producer usually handles financing and business arrangements rather than day-to-day filming.

Chiles is a gymnast who helped Team USA win silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Those two medals are the reason her name is attached to a film at all, and the project will be built around her career.

The release timing is deliberate in one respect. Hulu, the streaming service, is part of Disney, and the film will be available on Hulu and on Disney+ in the fall of 2027. That lands in the run-up to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, which will put the Games back in the American spotlight.

For readers who follow the Olympics, the 2028 Games are the next big moment on the sports calendar. For everyone else, a documentary like this usually takes a year or more from filming to release, so a fall 2027 date is roughly on schedule for a project that has only just begun shooting.
