Charli XCX is wearing secondhand clothes on her "Music, Fashion, Film" tour, and many of the pieces came from Vinted, the online second-hand fashion marketplace. The partnership was announced in Vinted's company newsroom, under a headline that says the singer will wear second-hand clothing on tour.

Her longtime stylist, Chris Horan, did much of the hunting. He searched Vinted for the words "distressed," "Gothic" and "flounce," then built vintage and preloved pieces, meaning clothes that already had an owner, into her touring wardrobe.

Some finds have already been on stage. An early-2000s piece by Christian Audigier, the American label known for bold logo designs, was reworked into a dress worn at the Austin City Limits music festival in Texas. A sheer grey blouse was worn in San Diego. A black dress by the Italian label Roberto Cavalli was worn to the Academy Gala after-party in Los Angeles and to the tour's final show in Las Vegas.

The clothes will also be for sale. On 16 November, a selection from Charli XCX's personal archive, her tour wardrobe and other items Horan sourced will be available on Vinted for users in the UK, the US and Australia. Brands in the shop include Emporio Armani, Seven For All Mankind, ReVice Jeans, Zadig & Voltaire, Gap and R&M Leathers.

All proceeds from the shop will go to Rainbow Railroad, a charity that supports LGBTQIA+ people facing persecution. The charity's work is one of the reasons the sale has a cause attached to it, according to the partnership announcement.

Vinted describes itself as the leading second-hand fashion marketplace. Its announcement presents the tie-up as a way for a major touring artist to wear pre-owned clothes in front of large crowds, and the November sale is the next step.
