Foo Fighters Open a Week-Long Takeover of Jimmy Kimmel Live! With "Window"

Foo Fighters kicked off a week-long takeover of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night with a performance of "Window," a song from the band's latest album, according to Consequence. It was the first of four performances the band had scheduled on the show that week.
The band's frontman, Dave Grohl, also sat down for an extended interview with host Jimmy Kimmel during the run of appearances, known in the business as a residency. In it, Grohl talked about where "Window" came from. He said he wrote it as a simple song that his 17-year-old daughter, Harper, could play along with. Harper was learning bass at the time, Rolling Stone reported.
Grohl also looked back on how he met Taylor Hawkins, a former Foo Fighters drummer. He recalled meeting him backstage at the 1995 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas event, when Hawkins was playing drums for Alanis Morissette. That story was one of the threads of the interview, which Rolling Stone also covered.
The interview runs longer than the song. Kimmel's YouTube channel posted the full conversation under a title that also mentions cooking for the actor Vin Diesel and a new Foo Fighters album. The channel also posted a separate video of the band performing "Window" on the show, titled "Foo Fighters – Window."
Anyone who wants to catch the show live can tune in on ABC on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. Eastern, which is 10:35 p.m. Central. Episodes also stream on Hulu. ABC's listing for the Tuesday, October 27, 2026 episode names Dave Grohl, Connie Britton, Foo Fighters and Nayanna Holley as guests.
For fans who missed Monday's show, the video is the quickest way to see the performance. The rest of the band's week on the show will be spread across the remaining episodes, with the dates set by ABC's schedule.
