Pocketpair would like to talk about bringing Palworld to Nintendo Switch 2, according to the company's chief executive. The two companies are still in a legal fight over the game.

Speaking to Video Games Chronicle, Takuro Mizobe said that if there is ever an opportunity to discuss a Switch 2 release, Pocketpair "would love to have those conversations." He also called the console "a really amazing platform" worldwide, and especially in Japan and for the Japanese games industry.

Palworld is a survival game featuring more than 200 distinct creatures called Pals, according to the official Palworld page. Pocketpair has also announced that the game will leave early access and officially launch as Version 1.0 in 2026.

The studio's view of a Nintendo platform has shifted over time. In June 2024, Mizobe told Game File that a Switch version might be hard for technical reasons. In March 2025, communications director John Buckley said Palworld would not be possible on the original Switch. He added that a Switch 2 version was "100% worth considering" if the new console was powerful enough.

The legal dispute is the main obstacle. Nintendo filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair in September 2024. In November 2025, Nintendo changed the case to focus on older versions of Palworld. Pocketpair had removed several contested mechanics by then, including throwing a Pal Sphere to summon a Pal and Pal-based gliding.

Mizobe did not discuss the Nintendo dispute in the interview, because the lawsuit is ongoing. The Tokyo District Court is set to disclose its preliminary view in the case on 9 November 2026.

Mizobe is both Pocketpair's chief executive and the director of Palworld. The same interview covered how the studio hopes to keep its independent spirit after the game's success.

For now, the question of a Switch 2 version has no date, no price and no announced partner. What is on the record is a stated willingness to talk, and a court date that falls two weeks after the interview.
